Want to read this short story but not a member? I’ve got you covered.

My dear friend spends a lot of time worrying about what others think of her — what she does, how she acts, and what they say. It drives me crazy, and she knows it.

We often discuss how she lets others' opinions guide her time and attention. Maybe that's why we are such good friends. We are yin and yang. She's the worrier, and I'm going through life without a care.

That sounded harsh — I care, but mostly about treating others with kindness and respect.

While I realize through it all is . . .

No one is paying attention to you — or are they?
No one is judging you — so you think.
No one is talking about your mistakes — that can't be right.

You would be surprised at how much time we waste worrying about what others think.

But while others micromanage your life through opinions, they only matter if they stop you from living.

I say let them judge and gossip about you.

Let them watch as you live unapologetically with vigor. Let them talk while you're out there trying new things and living…

They say life begins at 40, but I’m proof it gets even better at 60—because thriving doesn’t have an age limit, and neither does dreaming big.
