The Road To Success Is Always Under Construction
Navigating Growth and Change.
I am trying to remember where I heard that yesterday, but it originally came from the great Lily Tomlin. The words suggest success is an ongoing process requiring constant work, no shortcuts, and perseverance. It also reiterates that the path is filled with challenges and obstacles, and looking for new paths to avoid being stuck.
At least, that's my interpretation and continued business mantra.
Challenges of the construction zone.
Unpredictability is a constant companion on the road to business success. Markets shift, customer preferences change, and the unforeseen arises. It's easy to feel frustrated, much like being stuck in a construction zone.
A few years ago, we were on our way to Hilton Head Island and somehow ended up in a construction zone. Waze gave us an alternate route that would add more time to our travels because it was all back roads and residential areas.
While a detour means unfamiliar roads and potentially more time, it also offers the chance to discover something new—a cozy little restaurant and a fabulous artists' shop.
In business, obstacles are detours. They may feel inconvenient but force us out of our comfort…
