Stepping Back is The Best Strategy

When life hands you lemons, throw then in a bowl to rot.

Do you often feel like everything is a constant spiral? And even at the end of it you still feel the whirlwind.

This year our winter adventure was looked upon with both excitement and trepidation. The beach is my happy place and spending months near it is always good for my soul.

But this year included some monkey wrenches. Things that could make or break our trip (and it did, more no that later). Coupled with this shitshow of a new administration and constant dis and misinformation. Add into that a huge business pivot as I prepare for the next phase of life — retirement.

Enter Murphys Law — Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.

And that’s when you need to make the decision. Do I let it take me down or do I keep trudging forward?

Normally I’m a trudge forward taking no prisoners in my wake.

But this time I gave in to stop and let things settle and breath. I didn’t solve all the problems. I stopped listening to the noise around me. And I would not take the weight of the world on my shoulders.

And this happened…

Nothing major.

They say life begins at 40, but I’m proof it gets even better at 60—because thriving doesn’t have an age limit, and neither does dreaming big.
