Adventures on Day 45 — The Mundane

Location independent living is about the boring stuff too.

When people learn that I spend my winters in a warmer climate by the beach they often think it’s like an extra long vacation.

And at times it is.

But it’s also no different than living every day life — just in a new part of town.

Here’s the parts that ofter get overlooked.

  • Today is my mom’s birthday but I won’t be having a day with her, that will need to wait a few more weeks.
  • Watching the Superbowl will happen from our condo unit without friends and family.
  • While I’m waiting for a day of football I’ll be catching up on reading.
  • The walk today was around the marsh because the sand is killing my feet.
  • Laundry still needs to get done, shopping too.
  • I miss my bed and my pillow. I forget the one and can’t bring the other.
  • There is a ton of mail that needs to be sorted and two important things that needed to be scanned and sent.
  • Refills on medicine takes some coordination from mail order to pharmacy pickup.
  • Same goes for vitamins. Bonus: my Amazon shopping is nil for months, a good habit to keep.

But not everything is mundane or life as usual. I’m meeting the most amazing people. Finding the perfect gifts is simple when you in towns that thrive on small independent businesses. And the food — oh the yumminess.

Until tomorrow.

This is the part where I ask you to reach out to me in support of my new business venture. But instead, tell me your favorite things about navigating new locations (vacations or not).

They say life begins at 40, but I’m proof it gets even better at 60—because thriving doesn’t have an age limit, and neither does dreaming big.
